About The Lex Aspect

Let's be quick! My name is Lex and that's my service dog, Stella, in the photo above. I served in the US Air Force and was medically retired after being injured during my tour in Afghanistan. Poor me, right? Wrong. I am doing my best to continue my recovery and that involves getting my ass out the front door every day no matter how hard it may be. What motivates me? Telling stories and every form of art in the world around me.

I graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor's of Science in Digital Cinematography and I am working on my Master's in New Media Journalism. I have worked on web series, cooking shows, live concerts, shot music videos, documentaries and participated in local film festivals. All of this is what pushes me to do my best in life and I want to interact with my audience as much as I possibly can. That being said, follow me on my social media to stay up to date and be ready for a lot of exciting entertainment coming soon.

So, what can you expect to find here? Great question! I have always felt that there was a lot of potential in reporting about mental health. family orientation, and community involvement. The problem I have found is a lack of first hand experience and understanding. Part of my service in Afghanistan branded me with the diagnosis and stigma of PTSD. Many people believe this is an aggressive diagnosis and they shy away from people with this type of diagnosis. I think it's time we eliminate this fallacy and learn to help each other and become a closer community regardless of where we are or where we have come from.

It's important for all of us to keep life interesting. There are SO MANY amazing things in this world. I believe we are numb to it all and need to see our surrounding from a different perspective. Be unique and try new things every day. Be curious and change the angle of how you look at things. Be you and live each day to the fullest.
