The Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair made its 95th annual debut at the Lee County Fair grounds this past Thursday. The fair offers entertainment in a safe environment with many midway rides, plenty of food and live shows across 30 acres. While there is a lot excitement to go around the fair isn’t only just fun and games.

Attractions around the fair grounds and exhibits inside the adjacent civic center offer educational experiences for all to enjoy. The Eudora Petting Zoo offers an interactive learning environment that provides information about each of the animals while you get to feed and pet them.

“I haven’t even seen some of these animals, myself,” fair-goer Kevin Gama said. “I think it’s a nice way for the kids to learn. Even if they don’t remember, the information is still fun to read with them.”
Other attractions around the fair offer music, comedy and magic to give visitors a wide selection of entertainment. These attractions include music by Matt’s Family Jam, death defying escape attempts conducted by Lady Houdini, and thrilling illusions performed by hypnotists, Ron Diamond.
Jennifer Willis said this is the first time she and her family attended the Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair.
“I love the way it is all set up.” Willis said. “I’ve been to fairs in other states and they are always crowded and overwhelming. I really feel like this setup makes it easy for families to engage with what the fair has to offer.”
The Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair will continue until March 10th at 10 pm. Parking is free while admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-11 years of age. Children who are 5 and under receive admission at no charge. For more information on the fair you can visit SWFLCFair.com
